A Thai man resorted to stabbing a Polish man with a sharp weapon after losing a fistfight during a road rage incident in Pattaya on August 20th, 2024.
At 6:06 PM on August 20th, Pattaya police received a report of a fight between a Thai and foreign nationals on Soi Boonsamphan in the Nongprue sub-district, Banglamung district, Chonburi province. Upon receiving the report, the police rushed to the scene, along with rescue services from the Sawang Boriboon Rescue Center and reporters from The Pattaya News team.
At the scene, authorities found the injured person, Mr. Dobrzynski Slawomir, 58, a Polish national, suffering from a stab wound to the neck, just below the left side of his jaw. The injury had caused significant bleeding. Rescue workers provided initial first aid before quickly transporting him to the hospital. Also at the scene, police found a makeshift sharp metal weapon with a plastic handle, stained with blood, which was collected as evidence. The suspect had fled the scene on a motorcycle before the authorities arrived.
Eyewitness Mr. Akarachai, 16, told The Pattaya News that before the incident, he heard the suspect and Mr. Slawomir arguing about a traffic dispute. Mr. Slawomir was driving a car, while the suspect was on a motorcycle. The altercation began after one party cut off the other, leading to a heated argument. The situation quickly escalated into a physical confrontation.
However, when the suspect was unable to match Mr. Slawomir’s strength, he used a sharp object to stab Mr. Slawomir in the neck, causing the victim to retreat and seek help. Shortly after, a group of the suspect’s friends arrived with sticks, but fortunately, the police arrived just in time, causing the group to flee in different directions.
Pattaya police are searching for the suspect based on the descriptions provided and videos recorded by witnesses. However, the suspect remains at large at the time of publishing.
