Pattaya —
Pattaya City is preparing for the “Chonburi International Music Festival in the Rain,” featuring top Thai artists and exciting food experiences this September.
Deputy Mayor of Pattaya, Mr. Krisana Boonsawat, presided over a meeting to prepare for the “Chonburi International Music Festival in the Rain” on September 6th, 2024. The meeting was attended by Mr. Somchai Chomphunoi, Director of the Eastern Region, and officials from the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT).
According to the TAT, the festival is part of the “Enchanting Thailand” project. It will feature live performances and concerts by over 50 renowned Thai artists across various music genres. The festival aims to use music to attract both foreign and domestic visitors to Pattaya and encourage spending, while promoting Chonburi as a music festival destination.
The event will also include hundreds of food stalls selling fresh seafood, local cuisine, and beverages that highlight the unique culinary scene of the Eastern region. The event’s mood and tone will align with Thailand’s rainy season and will take place from September 20th to 22nd and September 27th to 29th, 2024, from 5:00 PM to 11:00 PM at Pattaya Beach. There will be three stages: the Main Stage (Soi 6), the Jazz & Chill Stage (Hard Rock Hotel), and the Dance Stage (Soi 9).
During the meeting, various forms of support were requested, including permits for sound, fireworks, and drone usage, three portable restrooms, clean water trucks, city officials to monitor the event area and organize vendors, two medical teams with ambulances, two water rescue teams, traffic barricades, cleaning staff, additional city officials or volunteer teams, 30 VIP and artist parking spaces, and parking areas for tourists.
The meeting highlighted the importance of tourist safety, emergency response, traffic management, and enough parking space. The TAT also proposed reviewing the stage locations, as they are relatively close to one another.
