Pattaya —
A Thai man in Pattaya is seeking help from the public after being scammed by thieves who stole his motorcycle.
On August 29th, 2024, Mr. Nontaworn Mukura, 27, revealed to The Pattaya News reporter that he had been scammed by individuals who pretended to befriend him before stealing his motorcycle. The incident occurred on August 25th, 2024.
Mr. Nontaworn explained that the perpetrators, who are Mr. Nontaworn’s friends on Facebook, had initially contacted him to fix some issues with their ride-hailing application. The scammers, including a man and a woman aged around 25-30, then met with Mr. Nontaworn to ask him to fix the issues.
Trusting them, Mr. Nontaworn lent them his Honda Wave 110i motorcycle after they said they needed it for just 5 minutes to pick up a sibling. However, once they had the motorcycle, they disappeared and could no longer be contacted.
After realizing what had happened, Mr. Nontaworn filed a complaint with the Banglamung Police Station. Police have since been gathering evidence, while Mr. Nontaworn has been trying to track down his motorcycle, but still to no avail.
Mr. Nontaworn is pleading with the public to provide any information that could help him recover his stolen vehicle.
