A Myanmar man was severely injured in Pattaya after being attacked with a stick for refusing to buy drinks for his mate.
The incident was reported to Pattaya police at 1:16 AM on August 26th, 2024, inside Soi South Pattaya 17, Nongprue sub-district, Banglamung district, Chonburi province. Emergency services and police immediately responded to the scene.
Authorities found an unidentified Myanmar national, aged between 30 to 35 years old, suffering from a head injury and heavy bleeding. He explained that he was struck on the head by his friend, also a Myanmar national, who became angry after he refused to buy drinks for him.
The injured man was given first aid by rescuers before being taken to the hospital. The assailant had fled before authorities arrived.
A witness, identified only as Ms. Noy, 51, who works near the incident site, said she heard the commotion but did not witness the event. She found the injured man covered in blood and assisted in contacting emergency services.
Pattaya police are investigating the incident.
