A 38-year-old Thai driver lost control and flipped his car after dozing off at the wheel. The accident took place in Pattaya at around 1:46 AM today, August 19th, 2024.
The Sawang Boriboon Rescue Center received a report of a car accident in Soi Khao Talo, Nongprue sub-district, Banglamung district, Chonburi province. They coordinated with the Nongprue Police Station and immediately went to the scene with reporters from The Pattaya News team.
Upon arrival, authorities found a black Toyota Vios sedan overturned in the middle of the road. The driver, identified as 38-year-old Mr. Supasin Thongpan, was found inside the vehicle. Rescue workers safely extricated him from the car, and he appeared uninjured. Additionally, two parked pickup trucks were damaged in the accident.
Mr. Supasin stated that he was driving towards Sukhumvit Road in Pattaya when he suddenly fell asleep at the wheel. He awoke just as his car crashed into the parked pickup trucks, causing his own vehicle to lose control and overturn.
Rescue services noted that Mr. Supasin appeared heavily intoxicated. He was taken into custody by Nongprue police for a breathalyzer test and is expected to pay for the damage to the cars.
