Pattaya, August 16th, 2024- Pol. Maj. Gen. Itthiphon Phothong, Deputy Commander of Provincial Police Region 2, conducted an inspection and evaluation of the RTP Cyber Village project at the Rose Maldives Resort in Pattaya over the past weekend. This visit follows the recent victory of Banglamung Police Station in the regional championship, with plans to advance to the national level.
The inspection team included Pol. Col. Phatikorn Sonchai, Deputy Commander of Chonburi Provincial Police, Pol. Col. Nawin Sinthurat, Superintendent of Banglamung Police Station, and Mr. Woraphop Kongthancharas, Banglamung District Chief. They were warmly welcomed by the Banglamung Police Commission, police officers, village health volunteers, kamnans, and village headmen.
Background:
The RTP Cyber Village project was initiated in 2022 by the Royal Thai Police to enhance community relations and crime prevention across 1,483 police stations nationwide. The project was particularly crucial during the COVID-19 pandemic, ensuring police could maintain public safety while adhering to social distancing measures.
Achievements:
Banglamung Police Station emerged as the regional champion of Provincial Police Region 2, scoring a perfect 172 points in the evaluation. Pol. Maj. Gen. Itthiphon expressed his delight at this achievement, highlighting the station’s consistent excellence in community projects such as the Sustainable Community Project and the Stronger Together Project. He emphasized the importance of unity among all units, organizations, communities, and the public sector in driving these initiatives.
Future Goals:
With the national final round set to be announced after October 17, the focus is on maintaining high standards and continuous improvement. Pol. Maj. Gen. Itthiphon believes that sustained efforts will ensure the community remains peaceful, sustainable, and safe. The interconnected nature of the projects is seen as a key factor in fostering lasting peace and order in the community.
