Pattaya, Chonburi Province – The Chonburi Indian Association, in collaboration with the Mahakali Avatar Chakravartin Temple, organized the Ganesha Utsava event on September 15th, 2024, to celebrate Ganesh Chaturthi. The event included the distribution of 1,000 sets of rice and vegetable oil to the poor, aiming to support low-income families and reduce their living costs.
The event took place at the Mahakali Avatar Chakravartin Temple, located in Soi Kaset Sin, Khao Phratamnak. Dr. Deo Kumar Singh, President of the Chonburi Indian Association, along with Mrs. Amporn Kaewsaeng, founder of the Mahakali Avatar Chakravartin Temple, and Mr. Naresh Chander, Vice President of the Chonburi Indian Association, led the organization of the event. The opening ceremony was presided over by Mr. Poramese Ngampiches, Mayor of Pattaya City, and attended by several honorable guests, including Petty Officer 1st Class Pittayaphon Ko Kaew, Banglamung District Chief, and Mr. Sakon-Nakhon Phonlukin, Member of the Chonburi Provincial Administrative Organization.
Before the Hindu ceremony began, the organizers distributed 1,000 sets of alms, rice, and vegetable oil to the poor. This initiative was aimed at helping those in need and reducing the cost of living for low-income earners. Additionally, a vegetarian and Indian food kitchen was set up for the participants.
The event featured a Bhajan ceremony, an Indian cultural activity performed by the Oasis Foundation, which traveled from India for the occasion. The celebration also included an Aarti and Prashad ceremony to honor Ganesh Chaturthi, bringing good fortune to the participants and devotees.
Ganesh Chaturthi is a significant Hindu festival that celebrates the birthday of Lord Ganesha, the god of success, who is believed to descend to earth to bestow blessings. It is a time when devotees can closely worship and seek blessings from Lord Ganesha.
