Pattaya —
At exactly 3:16 AM on August 10th, 2024, Pattaya City police officers were alerted to a serious accident involving a big bike and a garbage truck at a traffic light intersection on Sukhumvit Road, North Pattaya.
The Sawang Boriboon Thammasathan Foundation rescue teams and medical staff from Bangkok-Pattaya Hospital quickly arrived at the scene. They found the big bike severely damaged, with parts scattered across the road.
Nearby, Mr. Songsak Kimsart, a 34-year-old big biker, was lying in a pool of blood with critical injuries. He was given first aid and rushed to the hospital for immediate medical treatment.
The garbage truck, driven by 40-year-old Mr. Sorawit Rodpai, had a damaged front bumper. He allegedly reported that he was turning onto North Pattaya Road with a green light when the speeding motorcycle ran a red light and crashed into his truck, sending the bike flying over 10 meters.
Pattaya City officers are investigating the scene and reviewing local CCTV footage, which evidently captured the motorcycle running the red light and colliding with the truck.
