Banglamung –
Police officers at Banglamung Police Station were left perplexed after arresting a suspect who claimed to be over 100 years old, despite his identification card stating he was 33 and him clearly appearing to be decades younger.
At approximately 3:00 AM on September 11th, 2024, Pol. Col. Nawin Sinthurat, Superintendent of Banglamung Police Station, assigned officers to crack down on illegal activities in the area. The team, led by Pol. Lt. Col. Kornpong Sukwisit, Deputy Superintendent of Investigation, were conducting their patrol when they encountered a motorcycle without license plates and non-functional headlights and taillights.
Upon inspection, the officers discovered two methamphetamine pills in the possession of Mr. Anuwat, also known as Ta Khamloet, aged 33, from Sakon Nakhon Province. The pills were found in a clear plastic bag inside a black cigarette box labeled “VOXX.” A subsequent urine test confirmed the presence of drugs.
During questioning, Mr. Anuwat admitted to daily methamphetamine use and revealed he had not slept for several days. However, the situation took an unexpected twist when he claimed to be over 100 years old, despite his ID card indicating he was 33. This unusual claim left the officers bewildered but they proceeded to record his statement and inform him of the charges.
Mr. Anuwat faces multiple charges, including:
1. Possession of Category 1 narcotics (methamphetamine) with intent to use without permission.
2. Being a driver under the influence of substances affecting the mind and nervous system.
3. Using Category 1 narcotics (methamphetamine) without permission.
The suspect has been taken into custody for further legal proceedings.
